The skills of the Expin personnel allow – in addition to being able to offer specific consultancy in the field of investigations and structural monitoring – to obtain expert consultancy in the field of development and validation of products, test methods and structural systems in the field of civil, construction and restoration engineering.

Over the years, numerous experimental test campaigns have been conducted on industrial and construction products, to test their behavior in operational conditions (moving mechanical parts, vibrations, deformations, …) or to validate the effect of strengthening devices (Expin successfully carried out on-site and factory tests on seismic bracing systems, reinforcing fibers of wall panels, industrial shelving, experimental connectors, …).

Some types of particularly complex activities carried out by Expin concern the museum sector and statuary in general, where diagnostic and engineering aspects essentially merge. Very detailed behavioral models obtained from laser scanner surveys were used to evaluate the operational and earthquake behaviour of statues, fossils, and other finds, with the aid of diagnostics specifically designed for the problem under study.
