Ultrasonic thickness gauge

The ultrasonic thickness gauge allows to execute echometric ultrasonic thickness measurements of metal samples. The face of the metal element to be tested must be smoothed by removing any trace of impurity or coating (by grinding the surface) to ensure adequate contact between the ultrasonic probe and the sample. The thickness gauge is calibrated on a supplied reference block and then configured for the material under examination. The test is carried out by applying the coupling gel and holding the probe firmly, ensuring contact with the sample to be investigated. The measurement of the time of flight and speed of propagation of the ultrasonic wave introduced into the material is thus carried out, so that the thickness of the tested elements can be estimated.
