Tests with covermeter
Tests using covermeter allow the localization of reinforcement in reinforced concrete, the measurement of the concrete cover and provide qualitative indications on the diameter of the rebars/stirrups in relation to the difference of magnetic properties between these and the concrete conglomerate. The test, completely non-destructive, consists of passing a probe over the surface of the concrete structure where the reinforcement must be identified. This probe emits an electromagnetic field and can locate the reinforcing bars and estimate their diameter by analysing the distortions of the emitted field. Obtained data are processed and shown on a display and/or saved in the memory of the receiving unit.
