Plaster removal
To visually inspect masonry elements for classification or corner connections assessment, and in absence of specific limitations (e.g. heritage structures), it is possible to remove the plaster or any non-structural covering (e.g. plasterboard) with mechanical or manual tools. In the case of load bearing walls, the inspection involves scarifying the finishing layer to investigate a sufficient area to allow the recognition of the texture and type of wall (generally a 1 x 1 m window is made to expose the surface, or of a smaller size in case this information can still be obtained with less invasiveness).
