2023 – Brescia, Italy – SHM of a A4 highway bridge

The flyover goes over the Milan-Venice motorway via a deck with two spans of 27.00 m each. The foundations consist of a reinforced concrete plinth on which the deep foundations made using piles are inserted. The deck was built using 9 pre-stressed rectangular box beams placed side by side. The static scheme of the overpass is therefore simply supported.
Expin was awarded lot 1 of the tender relating to the structural monitoring of motorway bridges announced by Autostrade Brescia-Verona-Vicenza-Padova SpA, on PNRR funds. The artefact was instrumented with accelerometer and deformation sensors for continuous operational monitoring.
